BRILLION, Wis. (April 25, 2001) – The industry’s best alfalfa seeder just got better. The new Sure-Stand II alfalfa seeder from Brillion combines the company’s unmatched seed metering system with a new, larger capacity hopper to meet the needs of larger operations.

"The Sure-Stand Seeder is known around the globe for unmatched seed metering and precise seed placement," says Tim Geary, marketing manager for Brillion Iron Works. "With a hopper four times as large as our standard Sure Stand hopper, the Sure-Stand II is designed to help larger producers cover more ground efficiently."

Sure-Stand II features include 8-, 10-, or 12-foot seeding widths with 15-, 19-, or 23-bushel hoppers respectively, combined with industry-best Brillion Micro-Meter fluted feed cups. A total of 22, 28, or 34 meters set on 4.25-inch spacings deliver uniform seed distribution across the entire seeder width. The seeder accurately meters alfalfa seed at rates from 4 pounds per acre to 47 pounds per acre and will double those rates when the standard speed-up kit is installed.

The Brillion double-roller design assures optimum seed-to-soil contact with consistent seed placement in the top half inch of the seedbed. An electric clutch turns the seeder off on turn rows to save expensive seed and a rear walkboard allows easier seed loading. A safety light kit is also standard, making transportation safer.

Larger operations will also value the efficiency of the optional Brillion Double Seeder Hitch, which allows two pull-type 10-foot or 12-foot seeders to be run in tandem for even wider passes. Other options include an electronic acre meter, coil tine track removers and S-tine track removers.
