FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brillion Adds New Model to Land Commander II Lineup BRILLION, Wis. (September 5, 2001) A versatile tillage tool for all conditions and residue requirements just went one better. Brillion has added a new 720 model to the "Built Brillion Tough" Land Commander II lineup that includes some of the most productive and efficient tillage equipment available today. "The 20-inch spacing on the 7-shank machine provides improved breakout for producers in medium to heavy soil types," explains Gary Wallander, product support coordinator for Brillion Iron Works. "Actual field operation has shown that horsepower requirements for this model are less than models with wider shank spacings." The time-tested auto-reset shank assemblies on the 720 model Land Commander II are mounted with four shanks on the front rank and three shanks on the rear rank for a true 20-inch spacing. "This shank configuration does an excellent job in heavy soil types," Wallander says. "It works the clay and gumbo soils better, making for a smooth and uniform seedbed." The standard Land Commander II with 15-, 24-, or 30-inch spacings still is available in sizes from three to 13 shanks. The new model 720 adds an intermediate size machine that is extremely versatile, efficient, and productive. The Land Commander II series works for the producer both spring and fall. The adjustable front disc gangs cut and size the residue. The auto-reset shanks, with 20 inches of trip height, break up the compaction layers for optimum water transfer and root penetration. Spring-cushioned rear disk gangs break up the clods, mix the residue and level the fields without ridging. The independently adjustable disk gangs can be set at angles of 10, 15 and 20 degrees to tailor the 720 Land Commander II to a variety of tillage and residue requirements. Burying anywhere from 20 percent up to 80 percent of the residue is easy with the 720 Land Commander II by making simple angle and depth adjustments to the disk gangs. A 39-inch under frame shank clearance allows for better trash flow in heavy residue conditions and a single point depth control makes in-field adjustments fast and easy. The Land Commander II features a sturdy 4-inch by 6-inch by 3/8-inch mainframe and a 5 and 9/16-inch main axle rockshaft that makes it a rugged field companion for many seasons. Other standard features also include a heavy-duty jack stand, coverboard for the center shank, greasable disc bearings and safety warning lights. List price for the 720 model Land Commander II with 22-inch disk blades spaced at 15 inches in the front and 9 inches in the rear is $23,930.00 plus freight and set up. "At Brillion, we work with producers and listen to their comments as we design our equipment," Wallander says. "This recent addition to the Land Commander II line is a continuation of our Built Brillion Tough tradition of designing and manufacturing productive, efficient, and sturdy tillage equipment."
